Back Into the Web Design Groove

SunArcher has reopened its Web design division effective immediately. With some projects being finished and others being cleared for the schedule, I can now devote time and resources to that division.

Current Web design projects on the table are in progress for Melissa Lynnette and Nikki C. Stay tuned for their official launches.

Professionals and Perpetrators...

I'm gonna take a minute to talk to these perpetrators out there. Whether a model, photographer, businessperson, or whatever, there's way too many people "faking the funk" out there. Please stop!

First off, models. If you're calling yourself a model, and you haven't visited www.newmodels.com, please stop calling yourself a model. Right now. Because you're embarrassing yourself. I've had three "models" in the last week step to me with no plan, no hustle, no sense. I don't mind shooting trade, but quite frankly, it's limited, and I don't just shoot trade for the hell of it. Well Fargo could care less about a trade shoot. I shoot trade so my book can be stronger and earn me work. The old adage says to "trade up," so if you're not bringing more heat than what's already in my port, it's very unlikely that I'm gonna shoot you for trade. If you're 5'2" and 170 lbs, why would I shoot a fashion shoot with you for trade? There's nothing wrong with merely being someone who wants some pretty pictures. Just say that and don't portray yourself as something that you're not.

Next, photographers. I'm not competing with you. I shot a model you shot. Big deal. If you don't want me shooting models that you shot, manage the models and make 'em sign exclusivity agreements. Otherwise, mind your business. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I do me. I don't want to do you. Because I don't do it like you. I expect models to invest in themselves, and I invest in myself. It's not about shooting the most models. There's too much soft-hatin' out there. If you don't like me, my style, or how I do things, don't beat around the bush. Say "I don't like SunArcher" and be done with it.

Finally, businesspeople. Stop looking for handouts from me and then getting mad when I turn you down. "You charge WHAT?! I could get my dude to do that with his digital camera." Then why are you wasting my time and your time frontin'? Go ask your dude to grab his digital camera and shoot away. But remember: you get what you pay for. I have just as many, if not more, bills than the next man. I have taken certain jobs for "exposure." But how much exposure do you think you can give me that I can't get for myself? Stop. Listen to yourself. Record yourself. Now tell me if you would entertain that BS if someone said it to you. I didn't think so.

With all of that said, it's all a learning process. I learn something new every day, and from time to time, I stumble and fall flat on my face. I dust myself off, fix the rip in my pants, and go at it again. I also acknowledge that I have made mistakes in handling certain things. And I don't hold myself up and SuperBusinessMan or anything like that. But jeez, give me a break! Save that drama for your mama. Step your game up, people, like I'm trying to do!
